The Hidden Cost of LOW ROI Tasks: Why Your Business is Stalling & the 24-Hour Fix

This is a REAL question:
If you look at your calendar right now, as well as your task list, can you put a star next to every activity and time commitment that is directly revenue-generating?
If not, I strongly encourage you to reconsider your calendar and to-do list. Set aside 1-hr to assess where your energy is going, because it matters.
I run this simple diagnostic with my clients to help them see where they’re spending time, energy, or money that is not actually bringing gains to them (or enough gains to make something worth it).
What has it created?
Example: One client took back over 15 hours of low ROI time per month.
Example: Another client was able to 3x her income in just one month.
Example: Another client delegated his entire day-to-day work to focus on his highest revenue-producing activities, which required him to do more speaking, meetings, and travel.
You need to be asking yourself:
“Out of everything on my calendar and my task list, what actually brings immediate money in?”
It can be alluring in today’s culture to give our time to things that don’t actually move the needle yet feel productive.
We tweak and refine our websites behind the scenes for hours and days on end. We optimize our SEO and fiddle with our LinkedIn profiles. We curate our Substacks and refresh every minute to see the responses. We edit our graphics for social. We post and scroll, and scroll, and scroll, and scroll… all without making headway in our income.
That’s a problem.
Because if you’re running a business you need to be moving it forward.
Anything that’s passive is less likely to create income than real engagement with human beings. Humans buy or make a transaction because they feel a sense of trust embedded in the energy they experience with you. People create trust through personal exposure. They trust a person, a brand, a product based on their experiences of it.
So give that to people directly. Make time for it. Actively create that engagement. Start with people you know.
No one buys unless they have some level of trust in something.
Instead of more posts, make more 30-min calls with people who have a higher likelihood of referring, enrolling, or engaging in some meaningful way in the next 12 months. Many of my clients see a 3x+ in their income when they give a full quarter to human engagement vs online engagement. I’m not suggesting you stop all online brand awareness, but what I am saying is you need to be focused on the actual tasks that bring sustainable, high(er) revenue.
