General marketing efforts online have been effective in helping business owners bypass their own values, their inner knowing, and their unique contribution. Itās killing their businesses and stressing them out. Hereās the solution.
āI need Claude to create my social media content for the next 30 days.ā
āI need to start a podcast.ā
āI need to boost my posts to get more engagement.ā
āI need to monetize my Substack.ā
āI got a new app thatās supposed to streamline my business and I need to spend 100 hours building it outā¦.ā
These are statement I hear on a daily basis in all sorts of environments. There is a collective, stressed-out sense that business owners āshouldā be creating more more more more more. Even if there isnāt a current demand.
Most business owners feel behind. They feel like theyāre doing SO much but not seeing financial results and conversions that are equal to their effort.
More is not always what sells your services/products, though.
Lookā¦. for some professionals, online expansion is exactly how to create their ideal business(es). However, itās not how most people I know make significant money. In full disclosure, I only personally know ~five people who make more than a few thousand dollars per month with online content and sales.
So out of the hundreds of business owners I consult every year, thatās a very, very small percentage.
I happen to be in the business of helping founders make as much money as possible by creating client acquisition systems that align with their personal values. No matter what your platforms and audience are, only YOU are able to access the unique magic of who you are and what you provide.
Before you begin doing more, pause and complete my Business Clarity Worksheet, which is 100% free (and no email addresses needed to access it).
I promise, if you take time to meaningfully do it, youāll get amazing insights into your work. And thatās what we want to highlight and elevate. Once you have that clarity, then you can work with a coach or an expert to help you create more of that.
No two marketing plans should ever be the same.
So, please. Stop looking at what other businesses are doing. Stop wondering if youāre doing enough. Donāt buy that course, or join that group, or add more to your plate before youāve mined down into what YOU KNOW TO BE TRUE.
The first place to start is getting clear on who you are and how you solve problems for people.
Okay, but how do you know that your personal approach will work?
Well, you have to be radically willing to try new things and to get uncomfortable. All growth requires a stretch.
Find just one way you can adjust your marketing efforts to capture what you truly love⦠almost like an extension of yourself.
For me, I love food. I found a place close to me where I go for special occasions and Iāve gotten to know the chef. Heās maintained a Michelin star for the last six years. Iāve become friends with him, his wife, his team. Iāve received personal invitations to his garden, and in turn, I brought five founders to his establishment for a private networking dinner.
Thatās not everyoneās cup of tea. So find your version.
You get 100% of the things you donāt ask for.
One of my clients stopped chasing general, all-call networking events and started making personalized invitations to Zoom coffees with their ideal prospects. She got ten yeses in one week with amazing contacts.
Another client quit an MBA program that simply wasnāt going to matter in her reputation or business future. It opened up a whole four-five days every month that she now fills hiking with clients, visiting prospectās manufacturing houses, and getting novel experiences, like invitations to private excursions.
Another client created a ācookie dropā for his main referrals and took 4-6 weeks to personally deliver his home baked goods. His cookies were so memorable that people were asking to buy more⦠and they kicked up referrals by a lot. He hit over $70k billings the following month.
Any of this is possible for you, too.
I want nothing more than for you to success in your businesses, and to make the kind of money you want. I want you to have an incredible life, by your own terms. To do that, you have to be committed to doing your business your own way. Start small and test it out.
Reply back and me know how it goes!
If you want to talk about this more for you and your business, you can set up an intro call with me to explore your possibilities head.
If you found this useful, please share it with one other entrepreneur who needs it.
